Lanai Island, known as the “Island of Silence,” is celebrated for its pristine nature and deep blue sea. The Manele Golf Course at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai was rated the best public golf course in Hawaii by Golf Digest. This breathtaking course, designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, stretches 7,039 yards with a par of 72. Among its highlights is the dramatic par-3 12th hole, where only a sheer cliff and the sea lie between the tee ground and the green. Notably, Bill Gates rented out the entire resort and golf course for his wedding on this famous hole.

Eager and ready, we headed to the first hole. In Hawaii, it’s customary to play through 18 holes without a lunch break, but you won’t go hungry; you can order food and drinks directly from your golf cart. These carts also come equipped with speakers, so you can enjoy music as you play.

A new accommodation program, the “Lanai Golf Experience Package” for two, has begun. It includes one round of golf per night, a $200 spa credit, a personalized golf bag tag from the Manele Golf Course, and a 15% discount at the pro shop. This package is ideal for a golf vacation.

As the sun began to set, I saw a man enjoying an afternoon round of nine holes, the “Ocean Nine,” with his elementary schoolaged son. With no other golfers in sight, the son took his time with his approach. The gentle wind and tranquil surroundings added to the serene experience.
